Programs
Baker HSC uses money raised from fundraising events to bring fun and enriching activates to Baker students. We rely on parent volunteers to run many of our programs, so look for opportunities to help. Here are some of the great programs we support.
Gussie's Garden
Gussie's Garden is the passion project of our Co-President last year, Natalie Richter, and former 1st grade teacher Cindy Van Hoy. The project was funded by the HSC and over $12K in outside grants. Over the past year many came together to build and plant the garden. Now, it's a vibrant outdoor space where Baker students can learn all about how things grow.
Bobcat families and friends are the key to our garden’s success! To volunteer, please reach out to Ada White directly at gussiesgardenbaker@gmail.com or sign up at: http://evite.me/xGnnMtcRnh
There are many opportunities to plant, beautify and create learning moments for our Bobcats. Reach out and let’s work together to make this space a memorable one for our students!

Outdoor Laboratory
A school garden is a perfect place for real-life, hands-on learning. Many teachers use gardens as a laboratory to introduce a variety of topics, like the scientific method, plant biology, weather, insects, soil chemistry, and ecosystems. Did you know that students who participate in garden programs score higher in scientific achievement?
♜ Chess Club
Invite your kiddos to learn and play Chess with their friends at Baker! They can practice their strategy, increase their intellectual dexterity, and sharpen their problem solving skills all while having some post-lunch fun every Friday, at the school library.
